Ms. Hassenboehler

Welcome to third grade!

A little about me:

I grew up in Metairie, Louisiana and studied French for most of my schooling.  Later, I found the Spanish language and it consumed me. After graduating from high school, I moved to Dallas to attend Christ for the Nations. There, I studied cross-cultural relations to become a missionary. I served with several mission teams to Jamaica, Brazil and Mexico. Not finding a place where I felt called to serve, I went back to school to finish my bachelor's in education and work with the Spanish-speaking population.

Experience:

Eighteen years of bilingual teaching:   six years in third grade at Daffron and 12 years in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, which consisted of five years in kindergarten, six years in first and one year in third grade

Education:

Bachelor's degree from Dallas Baptist University in Bilingual Elementary Education and master's degree from the University of North Texas in Educational Leadership.

My educational philosophy:

I believe...in an orderly and clean classroom...in the independence of each child...in having options and the power to make decisions and take responsibility for the results...in respect to everyone and their needs...in constant learning and growth...every child has something to share...in the creativity of each person...in the well-being of each person...in peace...and in excellence.

Let's have a great school year filled with growth and learning!!
