Howdy! My name is Alexandra Spatter and I am thrilled to be Academy’s Year 2 Biology Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. This will be my 1st year of teaching EVER! I earned my B.S. in Biology from the University of California Riverside and I am currently earning my M.Ed. in Teaching at UNT. Prior to teaching, I spent 8 years in different fields of research including plant developmental and cellular biology, citrus virology, microbiology, and controlled-environment agriculture. In short, science is really my thing and I look forward to sharing the love of science with all of you.

My husband is a Forensics Investigator and we have 2 little girls. We also have 2 cats. Some of my interests include visiting botanical gardens, sport climbing, comedy and history podcasts, and I especially value family bonding time.
