Brandy M. Richmond
Richmond grew up in Mesquite, Texas where she played a multitude of sports and was an active member of her high school's state-winning marching band. Richmond moved to Denton, Texas where she attended Texas Woman's University and graduated with a double major in History and Government Legal Studies. Upon completion of her BS, she began her Master's in Teaching with an emphasis on History. For the past 7 years, Richmond has taught at Irving ISD where she enjoyed being a Professor of Dual Credit US History and teaching AP Psychology. Richmond is extremely excited to be at Academy High where she can do what she truly loves, focusing on building a strong foundation and relationships with students to help mold them into the amazing people they are. She believes it is important to look at the entire Learner and the aspects surrounding the Learner in order to help them achieve greatness.
When Richmond is enjoying downtime, she spends it with her family and friends. A self-proclaimed homebody, Richmond loves reading, drawing, learning crafty things she's not great at but has fun doing, and playing video games. When she gets out of the house, Richmond loves to karaoke, attend Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Jackals (rugby) games, and travelling with her family. Richmond is married to her high school sweetheart and together they have a daughter who attends 3rd grade in PISD.
