This is Mrs. Simka’s 19th year teaching in Plano ISD and her 13th year at Meadows Elementary. She graduated from Southwestern University with a B.A. in Art History and later attended University of North Texas to continue her studio art education and receive her teaching certificate in art. In the years that she has worked for Plano ISD her student work has been recognized for Youth Art Month, with one work being displayed at the Texas Capitol Building. She has been a member and worked at Texas Art Education conferences as well as contributed student work to numerous district art shows and competitions. She spends time outside of work travelling, visiting with friends and family, and one of her favorite local places to visit is the Dallas Arboretum. At home she loves being with her husband and son and their cats.
