• Library.Solution for Schools

  • LibrarySolution for Schools, also known as LS2, is the district's new library management system, which:

    • Automatically emails parents/guardians and secondary students with checkout, overdue, & payment notifications
    • Empowers parents/guardians to set restrictions for their own children
    • Includes a graphical online catalog for primary students
    • Enables catalog users to build lists, place holds, & rate books

     What Is LS2 PAC?

LS2 PAC is the online library catalog.  Each school has its own LS2 PAC, and a district wide version is also available.  Parents/guardians have the ability to control which titles their students can checkout using LS2 PAC.

     What Is LS2 KIDS?

Also known as the Kids Catalog, LS2 KIDS is a version of the library catalog designed for early learners. Each school has a Kids Catalog, and a districtwide version is available as well.

      What Is a Prohibited List?

Guardians have the ability to create Prohibited Lists of titles for their own children.  Once a Prohibited List is linked to the guardian's student, LibrarySolution for Schools will prevent those titles from being checked out to that student’s account, including at both staff-managed and self-checkout stations.

  • FAQs

  • What is the Difference Between Personal and Prohibited Lists?

    PERSONAL LISTS

Personal lists can be created by staff, students, and parent/guardians for any number of reasons.  A student may want to keep a list of books to read in the future or materials to use in a project.  A teacher might build a list of materials to potentially use in instruction.  Parents might create a list of books to read with their child.  Personal lists do not impact access to materials.

    PROHIBITED LISTS

Prohibited Lists may only be created by parents/guardians for their own children.  If a student tries to check out an item on a Prohibited List, LS2 will alert the person trying to check out that the student is not authorized by the parent/guardian to check out the item, and the system will not allow the checkout to occur.  This happens whether a library staff member is trying to check out the item or a student is trying to check out the item using self-checkout.
