Mrs. Indira Curtis
Hello!
My name is Indira Curtis, and I am from Panama City, Panama. I have two daughters who are currently attending college for Kinesiology and Forensic Anthropology. I became interested in teaching when I was in high school and decided to pursue this career at the University of Panama, Panama City. I started attending college in Panama but then moved to Iowa. After a few years, we moved to Florida and that is when I went back to college to finish what I had started. Once more, I moved but this time to Texas. I started attending UTD and in 2008 I obtained a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I must confess that my first-grade teacher was my true inspiration to become a teacher. She made a difference in me and that is something I have with me and will always value. When I started working for Plano ISD in 2004, I started as a paraprofessional while attending college. When I graduated from college, I became a bilingual kindergarten teacher. I was also a curriculum specialist for kinder for three years. After the third year as a specialist, I decided I wanted to go back to the classroom with the kids. This year is going to be a little challenging for all of us, but I know we all can do it. I hope to continue making a difference and to instill a passion to discover new things along the journey. I enjoy working out, gardening, doing diy projects, and learning about History, Paleontology, Archeology, and Geology.
