    Congratulations on your new role! The first few months as a district-level administrator can be overwhelming! Entering a new role often requires learning the names and faces of 7000 employees, where to find support and answers, and figuring out how to access multiple different programs, and acronyms. This is why Professional Learning offers District Onboarding Support. Please see the information below based on your role.

  • Coordinators and Specialists

    Helpful Information

    • Professional Learning Calendar - Includes designated district and campus PL dates. The dates may include district-led PL, required collaborative team planning dates, campus time, etc.

    Required Training

    • PL Planning and Scheduling - To ensure we plan for and schedule training appropriately, anyone offering training should attend this training to learn about the process for requesting training dates. Contact Craig McKinney (Director for Professional Learning) for more information. 

    Optional Learning

    • PowerSchool Operator - Will you be creating and scheduling professional learning in your new role? If so, check with your supervisor, department lead, or office manager to see who within your team is the PowerSchool Operator. This person has the ability to create courses on our PL scheduling platform, PowerSchool Professional Learning. For more information, contact Allison Welch (Administrative Assistant in Leadership and Operations/PL).

  • Directors

    Helpful Information

    • Leadership Meeting Dates - Check with your supervisor regarding required attendance.
    • Professional Learning Calendar - Includes designated district and campus PL dates. The dates may include district-led PL, required collaborative team planning dates, campus time, etc.
    • PLEC Information - The Plano Leadership Executive Committee is a monthly gathering of department leadership. Discuss these meetings with your Executive Director or Supervisor. Attendance is by invitation only, so be sure to obtain approval. For questions, contact Ivan Cantu (Chief Strategy Officer).

    Required Training

    • PL Planning and Scheduling - To ensure we plan for and schedule training appropriately, anyone offering training should attend this training to learn about the process for requesting training dates.

    Optional Learning

    • Check with your supervisor or Ivan Cantu (Chief Strategy Officer) for other training and/or meetings that might help you in your new role.
