Ms. Amanda Sorensen

Hello Pearson Families! My name is Amanda Sorensen and I am the Regional Day School Program for the Deaf (RDSPD) oral SLP here at Pearson. This is my first year at Pearson and I am so excited to be a Peacock! I am originally from LA and have lived in San Antonio, and now reside in Richardson. I received my B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders, with a minor in Psychology from Abilene Christian University. I then received my M.S. in Speech and Language Pathology from Abilene Christian University - Dallas (Go Wildcats!). I LOVE working with preschool-age students and being able to support their communication and language needs. Everyone deserves the ability to communicate and getting to help people do that is truly one of my greatest joys! I have always had a passion for kids and during graduate school, I began to develop a passion for the deaf and hard of hearing community. Now, I get to work with both-I truly have the BEST job in the world! I am so humbled and honored to be a part of this wonderful community. In my free time, I love going on adventures outside with my golden retriever, Leo, drinking lots of cold brew coffee, learning ASL, and spending time with friends and family.

Please feel free to contact me at any point!

I am on campus Monday-Friday from 7:30am-4pm.
