Ms. Molly Davis

I am so excited to join Harrington for another year as a husky!  I love getting to open doors of opportunity and knowledge to students through the power of learning. I started my teaching career in Oklahoma, teaching first grade, and moved to Plano ISD in 2013 to teach kindergarten. I taught kindergarten for six years and then spent two years as a Gifted Specialist/PACE teacher. I joined Harrington as a dyslexia therapist in 2021.

As the dyslexia therapist, I serve our identified dyslexic and dysgraphic students by providing evidence-based reading and writing instruction. Dyslexia instruction components taught include phonological awareness, sound-symbol association, syllabication, orthography, morphology, syntax, reading comprehension, and reading fluency. Dysgraphia instruction components taught include correct writing posture, pencil grip, letter formation, and writing fluency in print and/or cursive. Dysgraphia instruction may include spelling and written expression, as well, according to an individual student's presented needs.  Dyslexia and dysgraphia instruction is delivered in a way that is simultaneously multisensory, systematic and cumulative, explicit, synthetic and analytic, and diagnostic to automaticity.  While all of these instructional traits are appropriate for any learner, diagnostic and intensive small-group intervention, with high frequency over a sustained period of time sets dyslexia and dysgraphia instruction apart from classroom instruction.

If you have questions about your child's reading or writing, please feel free to contact me.

In my free time I like to read, go to movies, spend time with family and friends, bake, craft, and travel. I also have a sweet poodle named Charlie that I would love to show you pictures of!
