Plano ISD Project SEARCH
Project SEARCH is a one-year internship for students in their last year of public school. The program identifies students in which the goal is competitive employment. This program provides total immersion in the workplace, facilitating the teaching and learning process as well as the acquisition of employability and marketable work skills. The students work with a team that includes family support, Plano ISD special education support, and rehabilitation services to create an employment goal and support the student during this important transition from school to work. The students selected for this program will attend the job site 7 hours per day, 5 days per week. Currently, PISD partners with Texas Health-Plano, Texas Workforce Solutions-Vocational Rehabilitation Services, and LifePath Systems in this endeavor.
