This year marks Mrs. Poteet's 27th year as an educator. Earning her bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, she started out teaching fourth grade in Virginia. After several years, Mrs. Poteet went back to school earn her master's degree from Indiana State University in educational technology with a concentration in library media services. She thinks being a librarian is the best job in the school because she gets to work with and support everyone! Most recently, Mrs. Poteet was a librarian for 12 years in Irving ISD where she was able to focus on literacy, collaboration with teachers, and STEM/makerspace lessons. She was Teacher of the Year in 2017.
Mrs. Poteet has been married to her husband, Lynn, for 25 years and has two wonderful grown children: Madelyn, who works for Tarleton State University and William, a student athlete studying marine biology at the University of West Alabama. In her free time, she enjoys spending quiet time at home, baking, and watching soccer. Mrs. Poteet is very excited to join the Wyatt community this year!
