My name is Liz Turner, but many of my former students refer to me as “Mama T”. I received my Bachelor of Music Education degree from Texas Christian University in 1994 and started teaching middle school choir in Plano. I completed my Master of Education degree through the University of North Texas in 1999. This summer, I am finishing my last few courses to earn my school library certificate and could not be more excited about starting this journey as a Skaggs Star!
I have 2 lovely sons (Danny- 20 and luthier at Dallas Strings, Jack- 17 lifeguard and senior), a stepson (Zach- 31 and working actor/waiter in NYC), and a supportive husband, Jeff, of 24 years who is the Director of Fine Arts in Allen ISD. We also have two fur babies, Chuy (Chihuahua) and Bella (Rat-Chi). We all participate in worship at our church (Jeff & Danny violinists and Jack cellist) where I hope to return to singing on our Praise Team once again this fall.
I just returned from the trip of a lifetime - solo vacation to Mackinac Island - and I hope to return each summer. I am avid reader (as you would expect), live for my yoga classes, and love being outdoors. I am thrilled to be returning home to Plano ISD!
