Hello,

My name is Thanh Nguyen.  This year will be my 16th year teaching here at Carpenter.  When I was young I always wanted to be a teacher and a doctor because I always enjoyed helping others mentally and physically.  I went to Saint Xavier university in Chicago for my undergraduate.  After my graduation, I went on to pursue my graduate studies at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago.  I was a missionary and worked in Cambodia for a few years.  I returned to the United States in 2006 and worked at Methodist Medical City in Dallas as a chaplain for a year and went back to school and got a masters in teaching at Texas Woman's university.  I began my teaching at Williams High School in 2007 and moved to Carpenter Middle School in 2008. 

I also teach Sunday school at my church and teach Vietnamese language at Van Lang Vietnamese school at Dallas Richland college campus.  I'm married and have two beautiful daughters.  Emma is a eighth grader and Sophia is a fourth grader this year.  My hobbies are gardening and running.    

I always love teaching.  I cannot wait for another amazing 2023-2024 school year with our 6th and 7th grade Cowboys.
