PARENTS/GUARDIANS- WHEN YOUR STUDENT IS ABSENT YOU MUST CALL TO REPORT THE ABSENCE AND PROVIDE A WRITTEN NOTE ALWAYS!
A parent/guardian must call the student absence line to report a student absence. Please follow the steps below:
- Call 972-905-8800
- Select option 3
- Leave a message with the following information:
- Student name
- Student ID#
- Parent/Guardian name
- Classroom teacher's name
- Date of the absence
- Reason for absence
Parent Notes for Excused Absences: Upon returning from an absence, a student has three days to provide a written note in order for the absence to be excused. The note should include the following information:
- Student's name
- Student ID#
- Date of absence
- Reason for absence
- Parent signature
A parent call and/or email does not excuse the absence, it must be a written note signed by the parent/guardian.
Leaving school ill: If your student becomes ill while at school, he/she should go to the nurse's office. The nurse will contact the parents. The student is required to sign out through the front office prior to leaving campus. The parent will need to send an excuse note within 3 days from returning to campus.
Doctor/Medical Related Appointments: If your student must leave early, PLEASE send a note with him/her so he/she can be released from class. Upon returning to campus, please bring an Official Doctor note verifying the appointment.
Late arrivals and early releases: Students must always sign in and out at the front office. If this is due to a medical appointment, please provide a note.
REMEMBER- NOTES PREVENT UNEXCUSED ABSENCES!
