Hello Skaggs Stars! My name is Ilene Baumel, and I am the Art Specialist. I grew up in Kansas City but made my way to Texas via The University of Texas (Hook 'Em!), where I studied Applied Learning and Development with a specialization in Art. My husband Britt and I have lived in Plano for a long time, where we are raising our three kids - ages 18, 15, and 12 - and one very smart Border Collie! 

I am passionate about the Arts in Education and believe every child has a right to explore their talent and creativity. In the Skaggs Art Studio, we will explore the art process with thoughtfulness, creating, reflecting, and a whole lot of fun! I'm looking forward to a year of celebrating Art, celebrating Skaggs, and celebrating being together!
