From Mrs. Mays - Assistant Principal

Hello.  I am Fannysteen Mays and I am excited to join the Skaggs Family as your Assistant Principal. I was born in Charleston, South Carolina and moved to Texas in high school.  I am a proud HBCU graduate of Grambling State University (Louisiana) and the University of North Texas, where I received a Master’s degree in education.

My educational career started in 2001 with Plano ISD.  I taught at Thomas Elementary for 13 years and then began my administrative journey at Dooley, Memorial, and Rasor Elementaries and now Skaggs!

I am married to my college sweetheart and we are blessed with two energetic, outgoing, and talented sons who have a love for the arts.  Our oldest son, a 2023 graduate, will attend college this fall, and our youngest son will be a sophomore in high school. In my spare time, you will find me spending time with my loved ones or binge watching something on a streaming platform. Singing, traveling and eating out at restaurants are also things that bring me joy.

I look forward to connecting with staff, students, families and the Skaggs community.
