Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Emily Huechteman - Principal
Campus Behavior Coordinator
It is an honor to serve as McCall Elementary School's new principal and join this extraordinary school community! I bring a deep passion for education and a commitment to fostering a safe and positive school environment conducive to learning. I firmly believe that education is a collaborative effort between parents, teachers, staff, and the wider community. I am confident that together we can continue to foster an environment that leads to academic excellence, personal growth, and a love for lifelong learning.
I was born and raised in Plano, Texas, and attended Plano ISD schools from kindergarten to twelfth grade. From a very young age, I wanted to be a teacher, so after graduating from Plano Senior High, I attended the University of North Texas and received my undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I began my teaching career in Plano ISD as a fourth-grade teacher and then team leader at Hughston Elementary. I then transitioned to the role of the Campus Instructional Specialist/Dyslexia Specialist at Hughston. During this time, I received my master's degree in Educational Administration from Texas Woman's University.
I have served as the Assistant Principal at Andrews Elementary for the past five years. Although I have always felt at home in the classroom, it is in my position as a school leader where I have been most fulfilled in my life's work. Being an administrator allows me to work collaboratively with teachers while remaining connected to young students learning and growing in the classroom!
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am the proud aunt to four amazing little ones, Linkoln (10), Chandler (8), Finnleigh (6) and Knox (2), who you will hear me talk about frequently! I also love shopping, crafting, and musical theater. I have traveled to NYC to see shows on Broadway too many times to count!
I look forward to serving the McCall students, teachers, parents, and community members this year. Please know that my door is always open, and I sincerely welcome your input and support. I am excited to embark on this journey together and look forward to maintaining and further enhancing the high standards of education that McCall is known for!
