I was born and raised in Southwest Michigan and graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science/Elementary Education degree with an emphasis in Early Childhood education.  I moved to Plano, TX in 1996.  I come from a family of educators and have wanted to be a teacher as far back as I can remember!  I live in Murphy, TX with my husband, Rudy.  I have two children, both graduates from Plano East Senior High.  This is my 23rd year in education.  I have taught as a pre-k ESL teacher, kindergarten teacher and substitute teacher.  This is my fifth year as a Dyslexia Therapist and my fourth year at Hightower. I am passionate about reading and look forward to helping students become confident, lifelong readers!
