I grew up in DeSoto, Texas. I attended Beltline Elementary, and believe it or not, I still remember my school song! Growing up, I loved writing poetry, riding my bike around the neighborhood, roller skating in my garage, and played many sports. In high school I played volleyball, basketball and softball. In 2005, I received an academic and softball scholarship to Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas where I played four years of collegiate softball with my older sister and ran cross country. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in EC-4 Interdisciplinary Studies and ESL.
Jackson Elementary has been my one and only home where I have taught 4th grade, third grade, 5th grade and have been an instructional specialist. This is my 19th year at Jackson and my third year in 5th grade. I am married with two beautiful children, Makenna, who graduated Jackson last year and is headed into 6th grade, and Rhett who will be going into 3rd grade. I am proud to be a Jackson Jaguar and always will.
