• Trade Hour FAQ's

  • 2020-2021 Professional Learning Trade Days

  •  All Professional Learning Trade Hours must be earned outside of your regular work day: summer, weekends, before or after school.

  • How do I track my Trade Hours?

    Posted by:

All PISD professional learning activities offered outside of regular working hours or days should be tagged as trade hours in PowerSchool if they meet the above criteria, but must still be approved by your Principal or Supervisor to count towards your Trade Hours.

If you are attending a workshop or conference that is hosted outside of PISD, you can upload your certificate to PowerSchool Develop as an Out of District Activity to request credit from your administrator.

  • What doesn't count for trade hours?

    Posted by:

Training (SafeSchools, Safety/Security, Finance, Assessment, TELPAS) that are compliance based or meetings (informational meetings, games/performances, planning) do not meet the requirements for Campus or Personal Trade Hours.  In addition, trade hours must align with personal goals (TPG/SLO), CIP's, or HRS to be approved.

  • What if a campus or department sends me to a conference?

    Posted by:

If a campus or a PISD department pays for a conference or workshop registration, and you attend outside of regular work hours, those hours count toward the trade hour requirement.

As long as you are not provided with a stipend for attending the learning, the hours are eligible to be counted toward Trade Hours. (Remember, all Trade Hours must be approved by your Administrator).
