Foods of Minimal Nutritional Value
Schools may not serve or provide access to FMNV at anytime on the premises.
Foods such as :
- Soda Water
- Water Ices
- Chewing Gum
Certain Candies such as:
- Skittles
- Sour Straws
- Gobstoppers
- Starburst
- Mints
- Lifesavers
- Etc.
Under this nutritional policy, students will be permitted to share cupcakes, brownies, cakes, cookies, etc. at the end of the school day to celebrate students’ birthdays.
One nutritious snack will be allowed under the teacher’s supervision, but the snack cannot be served as the regular meal period for that class.
Foods such as : Fruit juice, milk, bagels, graham crackers, animal crackers, English muffins, flavored rice cakes, fig newtons, fruit or grain muffins, dry cereal, pretzels, vanilla wafers, fruit, vegetables, fruit snacks, etc.
The space in the cafeteria is limited. Please limit lunch with your child to special occasions. When eating lunch with your child, you will need to eat in your child’s classroom. Parents may not invite other students to eat lunch with them and their child. Only parents will be allowed to eat with their student, unless the parent sends a note giving another adult permission to eat with his/her child.
