The United States Department of Agriculture waiver that allowed Plano ISD
to provide free meals to all students during the 2021-22 school year has expired.
Plano ISD will resume charging for meals during the 2022-23 school year based on student eligibility for meal benefits.
Food served in the cafeteria consists of the five food groups;
meat/meat alternate,
grains,
vegetables,
fruits, and
milk.
In order for a student breakfast to be considered reimbursable, the meal must include a minimum of three food items, one of which must be a fruit. In order for a student lunch to be considered reimbursable, the meal must include a minimum of three different food groups, one of which must be a fruit or a vegetable. If minimum requirements for a student reimbursable meal are not met, a la carte prices will be charged.
