Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Kara Matthews
I have been at Bethany Elementary for almost three years as the PASAR Site Manager, and I am so excited to be joining the team as your school secretary! I absolutely love our amazing staff who make everyone feel so welcome. I already know many of our wonderful students and parents, and I am looking forward to meeting many more. Bethany Elementary really does feel like home!
Prior to working at Bethany, I worked in banking. My family moved to Texas eight years ago from the great state of Florida! We miss those sandy beaches, but we absolutely love being here. I have been married to my husband, Mark, since 2002. We have four children, who keep us very busy. Kaiya is studying commercial art at Dallas Baptist University, Juke and Cade are both in high school, and Brayleigh (our surprise) turns four this fall! In my free time (what is free time?), I love to read, cook, and spend time with my family.
I need to pick up my student early, what do I need to do to notify the school?
Please call the front office. We will get your student ready and call them to the office when you arrive. Please be prepared to show your ID.
What do I do if my student(s) have a change in dismissal?
In the morning, please send a note to school with your student to be delivered to their teacher. (preferred) If you haven't sent a note and need to change plans during the day, please call the front office so we can deliver a message to the teacher.
Who do I need to notify if my student(s) will not be at school today?
Please call the Child Safe Line at 469-752-0300. Option 1 is for English and then press Option 3 to leave a message. Please include your student's name, teacher, grade level and reason for absence. (When your child returns to school, please remember to send a parent note stating the reason for the absence. Please write it to the attention of Kara Matthews.)*
*Note- this applies to students learning remotely as well.
