Originally from the lower Rio Grande Valley in a city called Edinburg, I began my teaching career in Plano ISD in 2005. I was a choir director for 17 years at Bowman and Otto Middle School before becoming a librarian at Bethany Elementary.

I am thrilled to for my second year at Bethany Elementary as a teacher-librarian. In addition to curating a collection of resources for students to chose books they love for pleasure and for curricular needs, I also look forward to collaborating with classroom teachers and to help students with tools and strategies to thrive as a learner and young person in this 21st century. 

I live in Plano with my husband and two children. In my free time, I enjoy reading books, cooking new recipes, singing and dancing.
