Plano ISD Education Foundation Planned Giving

A planned gift is a way to leave a legacy of learning in support of future Plano ISD students through arrangements you make today. Society members are able to make charitable gifts while continuing to meet current income needs and take advantage of tax incentives.

WHAT IS THE LEGACY OF LEARNING SOCIETY?

When individuals and families include the Plano ISD Education Foundation in estate plans, they will be recognized for creating a lasting legacy of opportunity for Plano ISD students. Your generosity funds educational programs that empower the next generation to become innovative leaders. Beyond academics, your gift supports underserved families and the dedicated teachers who shape our children’s future.

  • Sample Bequest Language

Bequests for unrestricted purpose: I hereby give, devise and bequest $_____________ dollars to the Plano ISD Education Foundation, a 501 (C) (3) organization, located in Plano, Texas at 2700 w. 15th St. Tax ID#75-2481906.  The Foundation may use these funds for general use and purpose.

Contact the Foundation for bequest language for restricted purposes. The Board of Directors and Sr. Executive Director will work closely with your financial planners, attorney etc. to ensure the gift is set up according to your wishes and your legacy will be handled according to your specifications.

  • What Types of Endowments Can Be Set Up?

    • Unrestricted Funds: support the current greatest needs of Plano ISD
    • Designated Funds: support a specific Plano ISD school, program or other designation.

  • How are Endowments Managed and Used?

These invested gifts are managed to preserve and grow the principal, with only a portion of the annual earnings distributed. This allows the endowment to provide permanent support to the foundation. Endowment donors will receive an annual report noting their fund’s growth in market value, the amount distributed and how those distributions were utilized. All grants given from the endowment are reviewed by the Plano ISD Education Foundation Board of Directors’ Executive Committee and Finance Committee and approved by the executive director.

  • Are Donors Able to Contribute to Existing Endowments?

One-time or recurring donations can be made to one of the foundation’s existing endowments. These permanently endowed funds help provide long-term financial sustainability to the Plano ISD Education Foundation.
