Foundation Support of Plano ISD Staff
Emergency Assistance for Teachers/Staff in Crisis
Through the Employee Crisis Fund, the Foundation assists teachers and staff who are facing emergency situations and who are unable to meet their immediate financial obligations. Emergency grants are awarded by a volunteer district committee facilitated by the PISD Benefits and Risk Management Department. Confidentiality is maintained for all applicants.
Recruitment, Retention and Recognition of Quality Teachers
The Foundation supports programs that recruit, retain and recognize the very best teachers. The Foundation also funds professional development to teachers across the district.
To foster excellence, the Foundation proudly sponsors the annual Teacher of the Year Gala and the Foundation partner Park Place Lexus provides the Plano ISD Teachers of the Year with a Summer in a Lexus package which includes the use of luxury vehicles for the Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year.
New in 2020, the Foundation has parntered with Human Resources and InTouch Credit Union to recognize outstanding support staff throughout the district. This initiative allows fellow employees to nomiate coworkers who go above and beyond their job requirements when it comes to serving the students in Plano ISD. At Plano ISD, we know our district would not be what it is today without the continous support by office managers, bus drivers, and all of the other key positions that work hard each and every day to deliver amazing service.
