Message From The Principal
Dear Mitchell Community,
It has truly been a blessing to be a part of the Mitchell community. When I unpacked my bags in July of 2020, I knew that Mitchell Elementary would offer me an opportunity to grow professionally and continue to impact the lives of our scholars in a positive way. Today, with great joy and anticipation I’ve accepted the position as the next principal of Mitchell Elementary. There’s no doubt that the Mitchell community is one of a kind and I look forward to our continued partnership. My hope is for our school community to continue the walk and live out our mission, to collaborate and provide a safe environment where students surpass their potential, growing socially, emotionally, and academically. Our staff will continue to motivate each scholar to dream big and maximize each moment spent at Mitchell.
I’m currently in my second year with Plano ISD. My educational journey began in 2007 as a third-fifth grade teacher at Stevens Park Elementary in Dallas, Texas. I served as classroom teacher and instructional coach at Boude Storey Middle (Dallas ISD), principal fellow at Withers Elementary (Dallas ISD), and assistant principal at Onesimo Hernandez Elementary (Dallas ISD). I’m a native of Sherman, Texas and had the privilege of serving as assistant principal at Dillingham Intermediate School (Sherman ISD) for three years.
I view the principalship through four distinct lenses: the principal as a visionary, engager, instructional leader, and learner and collaborator. I’m committed to growing personally in this new leadership role. We will continue to honor the work of former leaders, community members, and our awesome staff. I recognize the number of good works being done at Mitchell and our scholars and staff are ready to amplify our efforts. Together We Rise is our 21-22 staff theme. This statement also aligns to our connection with you. Education is a partnership between the school, parents/guardians, and community. All scholars are more successful when we work as a team to achieve educational goals.
My family and I look forward to meeting you; as we begin this transition together feel free to reach out with any questions or feedback you may have.
With appreciation,
Chad Stoker
