  • “A good coach will make his players see what they can be rather than what they are.” -College Football Hall of Fame Coach Ara Parseghian

At Bowman Middle School our athletic department strives to develop young athletes into leaders. Our coaches provide a positive environment to foster growth and development in athletics, academics and character. By becoming a member of Bowman athletics your child is agreeing to hold themselves to a higher standard. Playing sports is a privilege and with it comes the responsibility of being a model student in and outside of school. Coaches expect athletes to take pride in themselves, their school and their community. They should always keep in mind younger students are looking up to them and should always act in a respectable manner. Our coaches look forward to the opportunity of helping each athlete see and reach their full potential so that they can find success at Bowman and in life.

Our athletic program for young men includes football, basketball, track, and cross-country. Young women can participate in volleyball, basketball, track, and cross-country.
Girls Athletics (7th and 8th grades) will take place during 1st period (8:30- 9:15). If an athlete is participating in an in-season sport the practices usually begin at 7:15am and continues through the athletic period. If an athlete is in the off-season program they will begin practice at 8:30am and continue through the athletic period.
Boys Athletics (7th and 8th grades) will take place during 8th period (2:45-3:30). If an athlete is participating in an in-season sport the practices usually end: football (5:00-5:30), basketball (4:45-5:00). All athletes are required to play football. There are no tryouts and off-season offered during football season. (Please see below for more information)

Coaches will provide each athlete with a handbook as well as a player contract at the beginning of each season outlining the expectations and code of conduct. Please review these forms with your athlete. If you have any questions feel free to contact any of our Bowman Middle School Coaches.
