  • Facility Naming Opportunity – Now Accepting Welcome and Enrollment Center Naming Submissions

    The Plano ISD Board of Trustees is inviting community members to submit naming recommendations for the new Welcome and Enrollment Center, located at 6210 Mapleshade Lane in Dallas, which is set to open in December 2024. Naming submissions will be accepted until October 4, 2024, via this electronic form.

    The 11,000 sq. ft. center aims to enhance support services for families, promoting student success through various resources, including enrollment assistance, community connections, and health services. The center will also provide a clothes closet, food pantry and support for families experiencing homelessness.

  • Arts Inspire: An Event Celebrating the Arts with Daveed Diggs

    The Plano ISD Education Foundation is hosting an exciting new event in support of Plano ISD Fine Arts! Let the arts inspire you at an evening showcasing the talents of our district’s talented visual and performing arts students and hear a moderated discussion with Grammy and Tony Award-Winning actor, writer and producer, Daveed Diggs, hosted by Plano ISD alumnus Hunter Herdlicka, star of Sondheim’s A Little Night Music on Broadway. Diggs is widely known for originating the dual roles of “Thomas Jefferson” and “Marquis de Lafayette” in the Broadway sensation Hamilton. Diggs has also appeared in Pixar’s Soul and Disney’s The Little Mermaid and starred in Lionsgate’s Blindspotting

  • New Student PACE (Gifted Education) Referral Deadline August 23

    Plano Academic Creative Education (PACE) Gifted Education

    Overview of the PACE Program

    The Plano Academic Creative Education (PACE) program is designed for students who require academically gifted services and have demonstrated a need for advanced, differentiated instruction. In grades six through ten, PACE is integrated into the student's daily academic schedule as a course often referred to as Humanities. In middle school (grades 6-8), the Humanities component is embedded within the required Social Studies course and is taught by teachers trained in gifted education.

    Online referral forms for the PACE program are available at the beginning of each school year.

    Students who received gifted services in a previous district should contact the campus gifted specialist, Gwen Baumann, at gwen.baumann@pisd.edu.  You will need to submit assessment scores from your previous school for review and consideration at the beginning of the school year.

    GT transfer/new move-in testing window: August 26 - Sep 6, 2024

    - Students without Previous Gifted Services:

    Students who did not receive gifted services in a previous district may request an assessment for eligibility by having a parent or guardian submit an online referral form.

  • Student Safety - Arrival and Dismissal Procedures 

    We are here at Hendrick to welcome our students each morning as early as 7:45 a.m. and will safely supervise them after school until 4:00 p.m. You may drop off your child beginning at 7:45 at the front of the building. Students entering our building anytime before 8:20 a.m. will be directed to the cafeteria to wait morning dismissal. First period begins at 8:25 a.m.

    Any student having breakfast at school is welcome to purchase breakfast and eat in the cafeteria prior to morning dismissal.

    All students are dismissed at 3:45 p.m. and are encouraged to be off campus by 4:00 p.m. when our staff completes supervision for the day. Staff supervision ends promptly at 4:00 p.m.each day.

    We appreciate your help and support to keep our Hawks safe!
