Ms. Karen Maddox

Hi  Meteors!  I was born in New Jersey on the very first Super Bowl Sunday! My family moved around to many cities as I grew up, but fortunately we ended up in Texas.  I  graduated from Texas A&M University and earned my BS in Industrial Engineering.  Whoop!  I stayed home with my kiddos for 12 years, and then started my teaching adventure.  This will be my 13th year in PISD with 7 years in 4th grade and 5 years in 3rd grade. 

I have two amazing children who attended  PISD. My daughter Emily is a 2021 graduate of Otterbein University and works in Columbus,  Ohio. My son, Nick, is a 2024 graduate of Baylor University and started Grad School at Baylor  this summer.   We also have two adorable and mischievous cats, Toby and Allie, who we enjoy spending time with.   I am looking forward to another fantastic year at Mitchell Elementary. #MITCHELLROCKS
