  • Children are my passion and I feel very fortunate to have a career that I truly love. I enjoy welcoming students to school each morning, supporting them throughout the day and teaching life skills during guidance classes. One way life skills are taught is with The Leader in Me Program. Students learn and practice Stephen Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

As counselor, my goals are to guide and counsel students toward academic and personal success and assist them in developing coping skills to handle life’s many challenges. As a team, I work with all our staff to support each child’s individual needs. In addition, I help students to explore options for the ever-changing workforce through career and college guidance.

I have been with the district for thirty years as a counselor and elementary teacher. I am a licensed professional counselor and worked with children and families as a therapist prior to becoming a school counselor. I have been married for over 35 years and have three grown children who attended Plano schools. I am excited that my youngest daughter is a fifth grade math teacher at Jackson Elementary in Plano.

My hobbies include yoga, spending time with friends and cheering on the Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Mavericks.

Recipient of the 2010 Crest Award!
