Welcome to Hughston Elementary, home of the Hughston Mustangs!

At Hughston, we continually strive to provide the best education for children. You will not find a more dedicated group of teachers. The staff is supportive of each child’s needs and will go that extra mile to ensure student success. As an educator, it has been an honor and privilege to make a difference in the lives of children for the past 28 years. I have a true passion for watching kids discover the joy of education.

Having the passion for seeing the daily joys discovered by children is my mission.

Prior to becoming the principal at Hughston Elementary, I served as the Principal at Barksdale for 11 years, assistant principal at Barksdale for two years and one year at Betty Haun, Huffman and Rose Haggar Elementary. My husband and I have two children; Avery, who is a college student at University of Arkansas, and Cole, who is a sophomore in High School. They are the joy of my life! Every administrative decision I make, I focus on what I would want for my own children. It’s my hope that all students love coming to school and enjoy learning!

I look forward to your continued involvement in the school community. Please join PTA, become an eNews member, and communicate effectively with your child’s teacher. Community involvement is a key component in making a school great! My door is always open if you have questions or concerns. Through team work, we will develop a school atmosphere that strives to reach new heights in learning for ALL children, as well as make positive differences in the life of each Hughston Mustang!
