Hello Davis Families! My name is Amanda Sorensen, and I am one of the Regional Day School Program for the Deaf (RDSPD) oral SLP here at Davis. This is my second year at Davis, and I am so excited about being a Dolphin! I am originally from Los Angeles and have lived in San Antonio, but now reside in Plano. I received my B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders, with a minor in Psychology from Abilene Christian University. I then received my M.S. in Speech and Language Pathology from Abilene Christian University - Dallas (Go Wildcats!). I LOVE working with preschool-age and school-age students and being able to support their communication and language needs. Everyone deserves the ability to communicate and getting to help children do that is truly one of my greatest joys! I have always had a passion for kids and during graduate school, I began to develop a passion for the deaf and hard of hearing community. Now, I get to work with both-I truly have the BEST job in the world! I am so humbled and honored to be a part of this wonderful community. In my free time, I love going on adventures outside with my golden retriever, Leo, drinking lots of cold brew coffee, serving at my church, Shoreline City, and spending time with friends.
