A Message from Your School Librarian:
Hello!
My name is Lisa Scott and I am Wilson Middle School's librarian. I have been serving the Plano ISD learning community since 2001 as both an ESL classroom teacher and as school librarian. The students and staff at Carpenter and Wilson Middle Schools have had a significant impact on shaping me as an educator. The experiences at both of these campuses remind me daily of my responsibility to our learning community and its learners. Ensuring that students and staff have access to high interest reading materials and information for academic and personal growth is a fundamental part of my practice, as it was what I had access to as a student.
While I am a native to Virginia, I attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania (in Indiana, Pennsylvania) where I earned my Bachelor's of Science in Education with a Minor in Rehabilitation. As a classroom teacher, I heavily relied on the school's library to further enrich the learning experience I provided for my students. My reliance led to the idea that I wanted to have an impact on all students in the school and work to create a school library where students wanted to be. I earned my Master's of Library Science from Texas Woman's University and have been Wilson's librarian since 2011.
At Wilson, you'll find me teaching classes, doing book talks, preparing displays, coordinating Wilson's yearbook, preparing Wilson's Mock Trial team. When I'm not at school, I'm busy with activities with family and friends. If you find me with some downtime, you'll see I have a book in hand and several more within reach!
I work hard to provide our learning community and beyond with a safe, comfortable place to learn and grow. If you're on campus, please stop in and say "hi".
With appreciation,
Ms. Scott

Library Schedule:
The library is open each day from 7:55 AM to 4:00 PM. Additional time is available by making arrangements with Ms. Scott prior to the time needed. Please note that this time is subject to change due to meetings and other duties that take place throughout the school year.
Students are able to check out books before and after school. However, most teachers schedule time to come check out as a class or allow students to come check out during class time. Students are free to email Ms. Scott throughout the day to request to come to the library to check out books. Ms. Scott will reply if she is not teaching a class during that time. It is Ms. Scott's priority to assist students with checking out books as needed! Please encourage your student to check in with Ms. Scott in order to check out reading materials!
