  • Plano ISD and City of Plano Back to School Fair to Be Held August 1

    The 2024 Plano ISD/City of Plano Back-to-School Fair will be held at the Plano Event Center (2000 E Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, TX 75074) on Thursday, August 1 from 4:00-7:00 PM to provide resources, services and information to students and families so they can have the tools necessary to help prepare for a successful new school year. District departments and community agencies will be on-site to share a variety of resources and services.  Plano ISD families in need must register using this event registration link to receive a backpack filled with school supplies.   • Food and Nutritional Services to Host Summer Job Fairs

    Plano ISD’s Food and Nutritional Services (FANS) Department will be hosting two job fairs during the summer months at Vines High School’s cafeteria - 1401 Highedge Drive in Plano. 

    • Thursday, June 20, from 9:00am to 1:00pm 
    • Thursday, July 25, from 9:00am to 1:00pm

    Open positions for schools across the district include cafeteria manager, cafeteria assistant manager and cafeteria specialist. 

    Benefits include a steady work schedule, opportunities for advancement, weekends, holidays and summers off, a retirement plan and health benefits. 

    Walk-ins are welcome to the event, but attendees should come prepared to interview, which includes bringing a résumé, if possible. Résumés can be sent in advance to fansjobs@pisd.edu or through Plano ISD’s Employment Page where more details about open positions are listed.

Reporting Absences

  • Wilson Absence Note

    Whenever your student is absent, please send in an excuse note within three days of returning to school. You may use the sample form, a handwritten signed note, note from a medical professional and/or an email to kathy.oravetz@pisd.edu with your student’s name, date of absence and reason for absence. 


    Cada vez que su estudiante esté austent, envíe una nota de excusa dentro de los tres días posteriores al regreso a la escuela. Puede usar el formulario de muestra, una nota firmada a mano, una nota de un profesional médico y/o un correo electrónico a kathy.oravetz@pisd.edu  con el nombre de su estudiante, las fechas de ausencia y el motivo de la ausencia.
