Welcome! 

My name is Nikki Blacketer, and I’m the music specialist at Hickey Elementary School.  I grew up in Allen, and the flute was my primary instrument.  I attended Texas Tech University and majored in Music Education and flute performance with a minor in psychology.  I fell in love with teaching elementary music through the Kodály approach, where singing and inner hearing are the foundation to building strong, independent, creative musicians.
