Assistant Principal

Hello All Stars!  My name is Amanda Hudson, and I am so excited to be the Assistant Principal at Hickey this year!  This is my 21st year in education and my second year as an assistant principal.  I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades, and served as an interventionist for kindergarten through 6th grade. I am passionate about making sure that every single child experiences success through engaging, educational opportunities that are designed to meet their individual needs. I believe that learning should be enjoyable, and active, and should challenge our learners to grow in a variety of ways.  

I grew up right down the road in Allen, Texas, and graduated from Allen High School. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of North Texas, and my Master's in Educational Administration from Concordia University Texas. I have a four-legged fur baby named Josie.  She is a yellow lab mix with a lot of energy, and she keeps me on my toes. I am very close to my family and friends, and I love spending time out with them at local restaurants and activities. 

I am looking forward to getting to know all of you here at Hickey.  This is going to be a fantastic year!!
