Advanced Academics, College, Career and Military Readiness
The knowledge and skills required for success are increasingly more complex in the 21st Century. To meet this complex need, Plano ISD provides diverse opportunities for our students. Today’s students must be skillful and selective consumers of information and information technology, artful and creative producers and contributors, confident self-starters, and reflective leaders conscious of the wider implications of their decisions.
With that in mind, Plano ISD is proud to provide students with a comprehensive program to ensure college, career, and military readiness for all students.
The Advanced Academics & College, Career, and Military Readiness Department (AACCMR) offers courses, programs, assessments, services and supports that begin in the elementary years and increase in frequency at the secondary level. Our goal is to connect our students in K-12 to career and college.
Opportunities include Advanced Placement (AP) courses, Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), Career and Technical Education (CTE), computer science, coding, work-force and academic dual credit, gifted services, Plano Academic and Creative Education (PACE), International Baccalaureate (IB), Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC), honors courses, robotics and a host of annual academic competitions. Depending upon grade level, students may participate in more than one course or program at a time which increases the opportunity for personal growth and achievement.
Please use the menu on this page to access more details and links, including contact information, about specific advanced academic opportunities in the Plano ISD, or explore secondary courses and programs by selecting Course Catalogs and Programs of Study on this district website.
The diverse offerings within AACCMR, taken in conjunction with any of our nationally recognized athletic, speech, fine arts, and performing arts programs, offer every Plano student a high-quality, well-rounded education that prepares them for success in the 21st Century.
