Mrs. Keala Vasquez

Hi! I have been in education for the past 18 years and a classroom teacher for 9 years. I have taught in Special Education and now English Language Arts. This year, I will be teaching English 8, Honors English 8, and Reading 8. I have earned a master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration and another in Special Education teaching. I began my teaching journey in New York City public schools, teaching middle school and high school. I also taught in Austin and moved to Plano a few years ago. I am originally from Maui, Hawai'i, and try to visit my family at least once a year. I love to travel, explore the ocean while diving, making art, trying different foods, drawing, photography, reading, hiking, and camping. My husband and I have a sweet and funny French bulldog named Henri.

I am passionate about creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued, safe and supported. I integrate innovative and engaging teaching methods, including hands-on activities, to help students learn and grow. I am looking forward to working with you all this coming school year. Go Wilson Rams!
