2020 Teacher of the Year - Finalists & Winners

Congratulations to Plano ISD 2020 Teachers of the Year Jacqueline Rosenquist and Jonathan Cao

On May 14, Superintendent Sara Bonser announced the 2020 Plano ISD Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year to the world via social media. Due to school closure and COVID-19, the Teacher of the Year Gala, normally scheduled in May, has been postponed. Although we cannot be together in one room to applaud our teachers as in years past, a pandemic cannot stop Plano ISD from celebrating it's dedicated and amazing teachers. This year's announcement of winners was made via a social media campaign. During week one, nominees from each of our 73 schools were introduced individually. From this group of talented teachers, the top 10 Excellence in Teaching finalists were selected and announced via video interview highlights, and on the day the Gala was originally scheduled, May 14, Superintendent Bonser announced the Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year: Jacqueline Rosenquist Hughston Elementary fifth grade teacher and Jonathan Cao Vines High School band director.  

We look forward to continuing to celebrate teachers at the Gala in the fall where we will also have an opportunity to thank our many Gala sponsors who make this annual celebration possible.
