Ms. Pamela Simon

Hi! I am so excited to be teaching Kindergarten at Mathews!  I have been in Education for 22+ years..  Before becoming a teacher, I was an ECC Librarian, PreK and Kindergarten teacher at private schools.  Once certified, I taught mainly Kindergarten; as well as, 1^st grade and 3^rd grade.

I am a true born Texan. I have spent my childhood in Corpus Christ, my college years in Austin and adult life in Plano, Texas.  I received my Bachelor of Arts in Art History from The University of Texas and my Master of Science in Library and Information Sciences from The University of North Texas.  Go Longhorns and Eagles!

After graduating, I enjoyed staying home with my two beautiful children – Paige and Ben. While they were in preschool, I went back to work as their ECC Librarian at their school.  Both my children attended Mathews, so working at Mathews is like coming full circle for me.  It was while volunteering in Ben’s class that I decided to switch from Librarian to Teacher.  Thank you to Ms. Brooks – Ben’s 1^st grade teacher – who encouraged me to do it. Paige graduated from Plano Senior High and Ben graduated from Plano Academy. Go Wildcats and Titans! They went on to graduate from CU Boulder.  Go Buffs! Paige graduated in Marketing and lives in New York.  Ben graduated in Civil Engineering and has returned to the DFW area.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing with our fur-babies: Chanel, Bradley, Henry, Hiro, and Harley, swimming, playing board-card games, and traveling - especially to Disney and Universal.
