Mrs. Angela Richards
In 2009, Mrs. Richards began her career in education at Mathews Elementary after spending 8 years as a computer engineer/system administrator and 11 years as a stay at home mom/PTA volunteer. As a PISD employee, she has been a substitute teacher, Special Education assistant teacher, 2nd grade teacher, and is now a 5th grade teacher. Mrs. Richards attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she majored in math/computer science. She has 2 children who both attended Mathews for their entire elementary school career. Chandler, her daughter, is a senior at Duke University. Dillon, her son, is a senior at Plano Senior High School. In her free time, Mrs. Richards loves to spend time with family and friends, attend activities and performances for her children, travel, and read. She is a NCAA basketball fan and enjoys watching games with her husband who attended Duke University (UNC’s biggest rival). Mrs. Richards enjoys spending time at her beach place in North Carolina any chance she gets. She also loves to snow ski. Mrs. Richards hopes to instill her love and passion for math in each and every one of her students.
