Mrs. Angela Richards
In 2009, Mrs. Richards began her career in education at Mathews Elementary after spending 8 years as a computer engineer/system administrator and 11 years as a stay at home mom/PTA volunteer. As a PISD employee, she has been a substitute teacher, Special Education assistant teacher, 2nd grade teacher, and is beginning her 9th year as a 5th grade teacher. Mrs. Richards attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she majored in math/computer science. She has 2 children who both attended Mathews for their entire elementary school career. Chandler, her daughter, graduated with a neuroscience degree from Duke University in 2019 and is in the process of moving from Washington, DC to Montreal, Canada. Dillon, her son, graduated from Plano Senior High School in 2019 and is a senior majoring in electrical engineering at Texas A&M University. In her free time, Mrs. Richards loves to spend time with family and friends, visit her children, travel, and read. She is a NCAA basketball fan and enjoys watching games with her husband who attended Duke University (UNC’s biggest rival). Mrs. Richards enjoys spending time at her beach place in North Carolina any chance she gets. She also loves to snow ski. Mrs. Richards hopes to instill her love and passion for math in each and every one of her students.
