This will be my 30thyear of teaching and my 22nd year at Mathews Elementary.  During my 30 years of teaching, I’ve taught first, second, third, fourth, fifth grade, PACE and Math Rocks. 

I was born in Orlando, FL and lived there for 13 years.  I moved to TX when I was 13 and have lived here ever since.  After I graduated from high school, I moved to Abilene, Texas to attend Abilene Christian University.  I received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Elementary Education, with a minor in Math and an endorsement in Kindergarten.

I live in McKinney, Texas with my husband, Dan and youngest son.  Tanner, my oldest, graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2014 and lives in The Colony with his wife Hayley, their son, Xander, and daughter, Blake-Lynn. Yep, I am a Gigi!! My middle son, Cody, lives in Melissa with his wife Malley. He graduated in 2018 and is working for Sales Force.  My youngest, Caleb, has Autism and loves to create animations on the computer.

In my free time I love to run, volunteer with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training, and read. To date I have run 87 marathons and 128 half-marathons and 3 ultras.  I’m looking forward to many more this year. I love to share all about my running and fundraising with my students. They love when I bring my medals to school!  I’m also a HUGE Disney fan!!
