Mr. Sidney Shelton

Campus Technology Assistant

Experience:

This will be my inaugural year working in PISD and my first experience working for any school district. I’m the “Team Hedgcoxe Hounds” kindergarten PSA Soccer Coach. I’ve previously served in the Unites States Navy, primarily as an Aircraft Director (Ever seen Top Gun?), but I wore many hats during my 10.5 years serving. I’ve lived in Iceland, Japan, the Island of Crete in Greece, Key West-Florida, and San Diego-California. “Sailed” all over the Pacific Ocean on two Aircraft Carriers. This year I will be proudly working as our Campus Technology Assistant. I have some great shoes to fill, but I have awesome colleagues to guide me along the way.

Family:

I was born in Tyler, Tx, and I’m the second child of five. I've lived in Plano since leaving the navy via San Diego in July 2017. I’ve been married to my beautiful wife for 10 years. We moved to the Plano I.S.D. for their outstanding schools, which reflect their outstanding staff and teachers, and Hedgcoxe Elementary exemplifies that. We have two boys, a five and two-year-old.  After leaving the military, I felt led to stay at home to help raise our two sons for the last 5 years while mom worked full time from home.  When the opportunity came to be the CTA of my 5-year-old's Plano ISD Elementary school, I felt it was time to be a part of this awesome community here at Hedgcoxe.

Interests/Hobbies:

I enjoy spending time with family and friends. In my free time, I like to play golf, go to sporting events, watch TV shows, and am currently in Martial Arts with my wife and five-year-old.

About Me:

I value my faith, family, close friends, and talking with colleagues.  I’m a quick learner with a desire to improve.

Interesting fact about me:

Before the first day working for Hedgcoxe.  I had never been on a public school campus.
