Mrs. Esmeralda Fernandez

Art Teacher

Experience in Education: I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Bilingual and English as a Second Language certification from Texas Womans University. I have worked and served in Plano ISD as an elementary educator in various grade levels and subject areas for the last 14 years. I have a passion for teaching art and love working in a diverse and multilingual district. This will be my 4th year teaching Art.

Background: I am 1st generation Mexican-American born in Denver, Colorado, and have lived in Plano, Texas for most of my life. I attended PISD schools and graduated from Plano East Senior High School in 2005. Go Panthers!

Interests: I have three beautiful boys- an 11yr. old, 7yr.old, and 13 months old. And one furr baby (yes, he is a boy too). When I am not teaching our evenings and weekends are pure fun and action-packed with baseball, basketball, and soccer practice, games, and tournaments. In my free time, I like to learn about different artists; explore and get creative with different mediums. My personal favorite is photography. We love to travel and try different foods. I appreciate a good book and can't pass on movie night with my boys.
