Experience in Education: For over two decades, I have had the privilege of teaching First Graders right here in Plano ISD! I began teaching at Miller Elementary in 1996 but have been at Hunt since we opened the doors in 2005. I just love Plano and Murphy and love all aspects of planning for students’ best learning opportunities.
Background: I'm a native Texan who got the chance to grow up in Tennessee. And, although I love my Volunteer State, I got back to Texas as soon as I could! I graduated from the University of Texas @ Austin (Hook ‘Em) and then spent a short time in the business sector. I quite soon realized that my heart belonged to teaching and I went on to get my teaching degree from UT Tyler and a Master's in Education from the University of North Texas. I have had the honor of receiving the Plano ISD Foundation Teacher's Grant, the Hunt Elementary Teacher of the Year Award, and the Hunt PTA Lifetime Membership Award. A few years ago, I was selected to be a PISD Teacher Extern. Recently, I have found a new passion for curriculum writing while working summers in the Elementary Academic Services department at PISD.
Interests: I just love playing and watching sports of all kinds. I like traveling, reading, decorating (and re-decorating), and trying new recipes as well.
