Mrs. Alway

First Grade Team Leader

Experience in Education:  This is my 24th wonderful year as a Plano ISD first grade teacher!  I began at Miller Elementary but have been here at Hunt since we opened the doors in 2005.  I have participated in curriculum writing for the district and love all aspects of planning for our students best learning opportunities.

Background:  I'm a native Texan who grew up in Tennessee.  And, although I love my Volunteer State, I got back to Texas as soon as I could!  I graduated from the University of Texas and then spent a short time in the business sector.  I quite soon realized that my heart belonged to teaching and I went on to get my teaching degree from UT Tyler and my Masters in Education from the University of North Texas.  I have had the honor of receiving the Plano ISD Foundation Teacher's Grant, the Hunt Elementary Teacher of the Year Award and the Hunt PTA Lifetime Membership Award and recently I was selected to be a PISD Teacher Extern. It is both satisfying and humbling to be rewarded for doing something you love so much!

Interests:  Playing and watching sports of all kinds, traveling, reading, decorating (and re-decorating), and trying new recipes.
