About Our Schools

Carpenter Middle School

Plano ISD's 72 schools and special programs feature award-winning architecture, state-of-the-art technology, and well-maintained grounds. As beacons of knowledge in our masterfully-planned and celebrated Plano community, our schools and administrative facilities house approximately 55,000 students and nearly 7,000 employees.

Schools & Grade Levels

The Plano school system is structured in five educational phases: elementary schools - early childhood (prek/PPCD), elementary (grades K-5); secondary schools - middle (grades 6-8), high (grades 9 & 10) and senior high (grades 11 & 12). The Academy Programs of Plano serve students in grades 9-12.

Safety & Security

StudentPlano ISD provides a comprehensive safety & security program designed to provide students, staff and visitors with facilities that meet or exceed standards in fire safety, air quality, hazardous materials management, chemical safety and building safety. A video surveillance system in every school is just one of the many safety features implemented across the school district.

Construction, Renovation & Technology

Plano ISD's construction update provides details of current capital bond projects. Our community has passed several bond elections to fund major renovations, capital improvements, systems compliance and technology initiatives.
