Parents Are Asked to Complete a Socioeconomic Form as Part of This Year’s Enrollment
This year, all parents are asked to complete the Socioeconomic Form as part of this year’s enrollment process, regardless of socioeconomic need. State and federal funds are allocated to school districts based on this information.
Several state and federal programs are dependent on the collection of this information, such as:
- State Funded Pre-Kindergarten
- Early Education Allotment
- College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) Allotment
- National School Lunch/Breakfast Programs
- State Compensatory Education Allotment
- Title 1 Federal Grant Program
- E-Rate
Additionally, students or families may be eligible for:
- AP exam fee reductions
- SAT fee waivers
- College application fee waivers
- College financial aid
- Emergency Broadband Benefit (to help households struggling to afford Internet services during the COVID-19 pandemic)
All families are asked to complete this form regardless of income since the completion of this form impacts the district’s programming and funding. If you do not wish to provide income information, scroll past that section of the form and select the following option:
“I choose not to provide this information. I understand that the school’s disbursement of federal funds and accountability rating may be affected by my choice.”
Completing or not completing this form will not impact free meals for any student, as that is a separate process. Additionally, all Plano ISD schools will provide free meals to all students throughout the 2021-22 school year, regardless of family income level.
