Eagles for the whole month of October we will be celebrating our amazing Principal Mr. McCord! Throughout the month take time to show your appreciation for all that he has done for us so far this year! Mr. McCord thank you!
GENERAL SCHOOL INFORMATION
*We are not assigning lockers this school year. Students will be able to carry backpacks with them throughout the day. This will improve hallway congestion, help students arrive to class in a timely manner (reduce tardies), and maximize the number of instructional minutes. Students in Band and Orchestra will be assigned a music locker, where they will be able to store their musical instrument during the day.
**Students will be assigned a Chromebook and charger. We are going to ask our students to bring their charged Chromebook with them to school each day. Please fill out the form on Chromebooks in the Parent Portal along with all the other forms (please consider clicking “YES” for Yearbook and Publications).
*In order to view your child’s schedule, you will need to make sure you complete all the information under “Student Registration Forms” in the Parent Portal. We ask that parents consider clicking “YES” for “Yearbook Consent” and “Publications, Video, etc.” because we like to showcase our students in various ways which include our social media outlets.
Student ID Badges:
Beginning with the 2021-2022 school year, the district will be requiring students from the middle schools through the senior highs to carry a student ID on a lanyard. Information on how this will be completed will be shared with you at a later date.
Volunteer Approval Process for the 2021-2022 School Year Opens on July 7
Starting on July 7, volunteers will be able to access the Plano ISD volunteer management system, VOLY, to create an account and complete an application, online orientation and criminal history check. These items need to be completed by volunteers each school year to be eligible for district/school volunteer opportunities. Please visit plano.voly.org to create a volunteer account and begin this process.
An email will be sent to the volunteer applicant communicating the status of their application and criminal history search within 3-5 business days of completing these steps. Volunteer approval status can also be viewed by the volunteer by logging into their account. Volunteers will need to complete the online orientation as well to be eligible to volunteer.
Once approved, they will be able to sign up for volunteer opportunities directly through the VOLY platform at plano.voly.org. Volunteers should be sure to select all of the schools they are interested in volunteering with when asked on their application. This will allow campuses to see their volunteers and their status in the system. These school selections can also be changed by the volunteer by logging into their account at any time. For more details on the volunteer approval process, please visit pisd.edu/volunteer.
