A little about me. This is my tenth year at Haggard and I love it! I grew up wanting to follow in my grandparents' footsteps, and so I became a teacher. I started teaching kindergarten, then eventually graduated to teaching middle school! Middle schoolers are my true passion! I have been married for almost 30 years and we have three children. My oldest daughter is newly married and is an 8th grade English teacher in Lewisville.  After five years in the Marine Corps, my son is now a Sophomore at UTD. My youngest daughter was the only one to attend Haggard and a recent graduate of Texas A&M in College Station (Whoop!). She is starting her first year of teaching 2nd grade in Texarkana.  Needless to say, we are very proud parents. In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my family and going to my husband’s gigs. He is a retired FBI agent who writes and performs his own music. 

I am so excited to work in 7th grade again this year.  My main goal is to inspire in students a love of reading and writing without the fear of failure.  Middle school is the perfect time to take risks and be creative. My hope is to provide a safe environment to do just that. I look forward to an amazing 2024-2025 school year!!
